Market ready universal water-based intumescent coating for structural steel

PD5 is:

• a novel formulation designed as an all purpose entry product
• gives satisfactory performance of up to 90 minutes fire protection on universal and hollow sections on both columns and beams, with wire or plate thermocouples
• is fast drying and relatively durable to limited external exposure
• an early version has been licensed once and helped entry into this competitive market for a company that is now a leading player
• should not be considered as strong competition to the most efficient products when compared on a DFT basis

No development period is required and indicative testing will be minimal before going to certification therefore offering rapid market entry, particularly in emergent markets.

Note: PD5 is not a straight HSD formulation. It requires a homogeniser to prepare a master batch.

Prometheus Developments require a small option fee, and as this is an entry product the royalty on invoice value is only required for 2 years. Prometheus Developments’ expertise is available for arranging fire test procedures on a consultancy basis.
