PD41
An external water dispersed thin film epoxy intumescent formulation for structural steel based on our MIPS technology
The product on everyone’s wish list, PD41 is hard, glossy, environmentally stable, halogen free, water extended and has low smoke emission.
PD41 uses MIPS as the only intumescent component cured in a water extendable epoxy:
- it’s hard because of the resin system and the MIPS
- it’s glossy because we don’t need a high PVC
- it’s environmentally stable because there are no leachable components
- it’s low smoke because this is a characteristic of MIPS
While MIPS dispersion is not currently commercially available, samples are available for evaluation. Development is ongoing and will continue under the GRD grant covering the PRP technology.
This formulation is available for collaborative funding of the ongoing development to a suitable client. The guideline formulation, if not so sponsored will be published under the commercialisation programme of the MIPS and PRP technology.
